Implementing Closed-Loop Safety Management for Contracted Operations via "QR Code Safety Inspections"

How to motivate safety supervisors to actively identify issues and ensure timely rectification by contracted construction teams has long been a challenge in managing contracted operations. Leveraging the convenience of smartphone positioning systems and QR code scanning, it is now possible to achieve closed-loop safety management for contracted construction teams.

This year, the contracted team at the mine has erected 20 QR code signs at various locations, including the mining area, waste dump sites, roads, and repair shops. When contractors, safety officers, or on-site managers identify issues, they can scan the nearby QR code using WeChat to report details such as the inspector’s name, date, time, location, and problem description, along with photos. The WeChat Mini Program automatically captures the location, enabling early detection of safety hazards at the contracted production sites. After submission, managers notify the on-site construction team leaders of the specific issues and require immediate rectification. Contracted managers can also use the query function to pinpoint problems and ensure timely corrective actions, achieving early implementation of solutions. During follow-up inspections, managers verify the rectification status displayed in the program, ensuring closed-loop management. Issues that are not addressed promptly are escalated for supervision, facilitating early elimination of on-site hazards. Since the implementation of this program, the efficiency of the contracted operations has significantly improved, with noticeable enhancements in engineering quality at the mining sites and road conditions, effectively strengthening the safety oversight barrier.
Additionally, to ensure that all members of the contracted team, including project managers, on-site team leaders, safety officers, and waste disposal personnel, have a clear understanding of safety inspection scopes and responsibilities, the contracted team has installed 15 management guideline signs at key locations. Designated personnel are required to follow specified routes and procedures during each shift, scanning QR codes to identify risks, detect hazards, and ensure timely investigation and rectification, thereby guaranteeing safe production.
