QR Code Label Installation Methods
Original: https://cli.im/article/detail/2001
After QR code labels are printed, various installation methods are available, including adhesive backing, rivet fixing, screw fixing, strap fixing, and hole punching for hanging. Please select the appropriate method based on actual conditions and the on-site environment.
Adhesive Backing
Adhesive backing is the most convenient method for fixing QR code labels. Simply peel off the backing paper and stick it in place. Different types of adhesives are available:
- Self-adhesive/Laminated labels use oil-based or water-based glue with moderate adhesion, suitable for indoor fixed assets, small equipment, or product labels.
- PVC cards/Acrylic can support stronger 3M adhesive, which can be applied immediately after peeling.
- Aluminum and stainless steel metal materials can use 3M adhesive or even stronger foam tape. Foam tape offers better adhesion and environmental adaptability compared to 3M adhesive but is more likely to leave residue. Choose the adhesive type according to your needs.

Note: Adhesive backing is suitable for environments with low fixation strength requirements and no corrosive factors. For harsh environments (e.g., strong corrosion, no flat surface for adhesion) or specific fixation requirements, choose other methods.

Rivet Fixing
Rivets are nail-like objects used to connect two parts (or components) with through-holes, with a head on one end, fixed by their own deformation. Rivet fixing requires punching holes in the QR code sign. This method offers higher fixation strength than adhesive backing and can withstand harsher environments.

Screw Fixing
If screw holes are pre-reserved on the equipment surface, screw fixing can be used. Note that the hole diameter must be greater than or equal to the screw thread diameter, and the hole spacing must match the pre-reserved screw holes. Screw fixing offers greater flexibility than rivet fixing, making it easier to replace signs as needed.

Strap Fixing
If the installation environment is unsuitable for adhesion or inconvenient for screw/rivet fixing, strap fixing or hanging can be used. This method is commonly applied in scenarios such as municipal street light signs and pipeline identification.

Hole Punching for Hanging
QR code signs can be hole-punched for hanging, commonly used for seedling tree tags, scenic spot signs, personnel badges, etc., facilitating easy replacement later.

Production Line Printing
QR codes can be directly printed on products or packaging surfaces using UV inkjet or laser coding equipment. This method is suitable for high-volume product coding on production lines, offering high speed and efficiency. CaoLiao collaborates with professional equipment manufacturers to provide solutions for bulk product coding (one code per item/one code per product), helping you implement quickly and easily.
