1. Applicable Scenarios and Industries

2. Inspection Frequency

According to GB50444-2008 "Code for Acceptance and Inspection of Building Fire Extinguisher Configuration," the recommended fire extinguisher inspection frequency is:

  1. General locations should be inspected monthly;
  2. Fire extinguishers configured in the following locations should be inspected semi-monthly:
    • Public places with high population density such as waiting rooms (for buses, planes, ships), entertainment venues (karaoke, etc.);
    • Sites such as storage yards, tank farms, petrochemical plant areas, gas stations, boiler rooms, and basements.

3. Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Repair

According to GB55036-2022 "General Code for Fire Protection Facilities," fire extinguisher users must perform regular inspections on in-service fire extinguishers as stipulated in GB50444-2008 "Code for Acceptance and Inspection of Building Fire Extinguisher Configuration." Fire extinguishers found to meet maintenance requirements should be promptly sent to the manufacturer's maintenance department or its authorized maintenance agency for repair.

Note: According to GB55036-2022 "General Code for Fire Protection Facilities," Article 5.3.2 of GB50444-2008 regarding the maintenance period for fire extinguishers has been abolished. Fire extinguishers no longer require annual inspection and only need to be scrapped according to requirements.

4. Fire Extinguisher Disposal

Compiled and merged based on GB55036-2022 "General Code for Fire Protection Facilities" and GA95-2015 "Maintenance of Fire Extinguishers," fire extinguishers meeting any of the following conditions should be scrapped:
