White QR code labels now adorn various laboratory equipment at the monitoring center. By scanning these codes with a smartphone, staff can instantly access comprehensive equipment information. These small codes serve as digital IDs, bringing technological efficiency to equipment management.

According to RB/T 214-2017 certification requirements, equipment management requires multiple physical labels including verification status and asset information. However, traditional labels face challenges:

  • Not adhering well to different surface materials
  • Quick wear and tear on frequently used equipment
  • Manual paper record checks being time-consuming

"Inspired by widespread QR code applications, we consolidated all equipment data (model numbers, calibration records, operation manuals, etc.) into a backend database," Ding explained. "We use durable silver-coated labels with dynamic QR codes. The codes remain unchanged while linked content can be updated - when equipment gets recalibrated, we simply update the backend certificate files without replacing physical codes." After extensive testing, the solution supports scanning via WeChat, Alipay, Baidu, and Xuexi Qiangguo apps.

The monitoring center has implemented this system across over 50 instruments (sets) including sound level calibrators and ion chromatographs, achieving:

  • Full equipment information transparency
  • Efficient maintenance workflow
  • Enhanced operational safety

By integrating digital solutions with environmental protection work, the bureau aims to build a smart ecological management system. These QR codes significantly streamline daily equipment maintenance. Future plans include expanding applications and optimizing data connectivity to advance digital asset management.
