Pre-Shift QR Code Scanning for Safety Inspections to Reduce Risks

We operate a food processing facility specializing in seasoning production. To address safety concerns, we implemented a system where employees scan QR codes before leaving work to inspect over 40 workshops. The checks include verifying lights/faucets are turned off and identifying potential hazards. We also use QR codes for vehicle management - drivers scan codes to register their information before using company vehicles, enabling clear accountability for traffic violations.
Using CaoLiao QR code platform (free version), we achieved:
- 40+ static QR codes installed on workshop doors for daily safety checks
- Vehicle registration dynamic QR codes in all company cars
- Equipment maintenance text QR codes on large machinery like air compressors
Implementation Details:
- Created inspection checklists using forms editor with:
- Unique ID components for employee identification
- Status dashboard for real-time monitoring
- Configured QR code settings including:
- 30-day period of validity for vehicle codes
- Viewing permission settings by department
- Managed submissions through workbench with:
- Automatic notifications for uncompleted checks
- Blockchain notarization for critical records
User Feedback: While the platform effectively solved our operational needs, we encountered localization challenges:
- Unable to create QR codes using Uyghur language (currently unsupported)
- Limited style templates for minority language layouts
Suggested Improvements:
- Add support for ethnic minority languages in:
- Forms editor components
- Dynamic data panel displays
- Enhance A4 layout printing options for bilingual templates
- Develop browser plugin for quick translation of submission data
The free version's standard definition codes and basic storage space sufficiently met our requirements, though we're considering upgrading to paid version for high definition codes and expanded dynamic data export ranges.
