Recently, during the inspection of firefighting facilities at the Locomotive & Rolling Stock Depot of Western Venture Ningdong Railway Company, inspectors can immediately access current inspection tasks, fire extinguisher records, inspection requirements, status updates, and completion details by scanning QR codes on fire extinguishers. The interface also displays real-time fire safety knowledge and usage guidelines.
"By scanning, we can trace inspection information, results, and current tasks. All data appears clearly on inspectors' mobile devices," said Wang Yonggang, Safety Supervisor at the depot.
Fire safety managers then review electronic inspection records and equipment status through digital checklists.
How did this QR code system emerge?
This year, the depot addressed fire safety management challenges by implementing a "one-code-one-file" pilot program. This initiative breaks down information silos through integrated data resources, establishing a QR code management matrix to drive digital transformation of information management.
The depot standardized inspection processes by creating digital profiles for equipment, personnel, and safety records. Maintenance updates occur immediately based on inspection findings.
"QR code inspections eliminate the opacity and inefficiency of paper-based systems while motivating proactive maintenance. The intelligent database integration optimizes equipment management efficiency," explained Su Zhiyong, Director of the depot.
"This system provides transparent access to equipment and personnel safety status, significantly enhancing operational safety control."
Moving forward, Western Venture Ningdong Railway will enhance QR code applications through interactive experience optimization. Building on fire safety management successes, the company plans to expand visual closed-loop management to equipment maintenance and staff training, amplifying the multiplier effect of digital transformation.
