As the 2022 National Safety Month approaches, Shenzhen Marine Environmental Monitoring Center has initiated digital transformation pilots in key operational areas including laboratory safety, fire safety at observation stations, and vehicle management. Utilizing binary QR code technology and BI data analysis while ensuring information security, the center implements "one product, one code" management to enable digital safety operations.

To strengthen safety management, Shenzhen Central Station established the goal of "reducing labor costs and improving efficiency through standardized digital workflows and visualized data presentation, ensuring full implementation of safety responsibilities and effective long-term safety mechanisms." The QR code-based management system represents a crucial innovation in digital safety management, demonstrating the center's commitment to maintaining safety red lines through technological advancement.

The center has implemented five digital management modules:

  • Hazardous chemicals tracking
  • General chemicals management
  • High-pressure gas cylinder monitoring
  • Fire equipment inspection at observation stations
  • Vehicle maintenance tracking

Laboratory Safety Management

Three modules manage 49 types of hazardous chemicals across 70 batches, 11 high-pressure gas cylinders, and 103 batches of general chemicals. Each item features a unique QR code enabling:

  • Mobile approval for material requisition
  • Real-time inventory updates
  • Full lifecycle tracking
  • Instant access to safety data (batch numbers, hazard descriptions)

Observation Station Fire Safety

file QR codes enable comprehensive fire equipment inspections across all observation sites:

  • Automatic display of equipment specifications
  • Guided inspection checklists (expiry dates, pressure levels, physical condition)
  • Embedded instructional videos
  • Digital record preservation

Vehicle Safety Management

Implementing "one vehicle, one code" system provides:

  • Fueling and maintenance tracking
  • Real-time access to vehicle profiles
  • Dynamic maintenance records
  • Statistical overviews of fleet status

Implementation Benefits

The five modules achieve comprehensive digital safety management through:

  • Standardized workflow guidance
  • Automated task reminders
  • Digital approval trails
  • Real-time management-executive coordination
  • Traceable audit records

This system enhances operational efficiency by 30% while reducing administrative costs through paperless processes and centralized data management.

Shenzhen Central Station will continue implementing President Xi Jinping's directives on safety development, focusing on:

  • Early risk identification
  • Enhanced emergency response capabilities
  • Integrated management of safety and pandemic control
  • Technological innovation in operational workflows

The center aims to maintain its leadership in marine environmental monitoring through continuous digital transformation, welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress with improved safety performance.
