To enhance dam safety inspection effectiveness and strengthen safety management capabilities, the Yangcheng Reservoir Management Office of Cangzhou Water Supply and Drainage Company has developed an innovative information-based safety management system. This new "Grid Management QR Code Inspection" mechanism elevates safety management practices to new heights.

QR code inspection system

The Yangcheng Reservoir dam is divided into 36 designated responsibility zones, each equipped with a grid inspection card containing a unique QR code. These cards integrate multiple functional modules including:

  • Zone boundaries
  • Facility identification numbers
  • Operational status tracking
  • Dynamic facility archives
  • Inspection records
  • Maintenance logs
  • Responsible personnel information

Inspectors conduct at least two monthly patrols of assigned dam sections. By scanning QR codes, they can:

  1. Submit digital inspection reports with findings and descriptions
  2. Upload geotagged photos of problem areas
  3. Provide electronic signatures Maintenance teams receive real-time alerts for reported issues through the backend system and promptly initiate repairs. Post-repair documentation including repair details, site photos, and technician signatures are registered via QR code scanning.
